Biography
Emmanuelle loves life! She loves adventure, growth, human connection and more than anything, she believes in love!
Emmanuelle was born in Montreal, Quebec, but did most of her 'growing up' in Ottawa, Ontario. Emmanuelle is a graduate of the University of Windsor's Musical Theatre Performance Program. She furthered her studies in improvisation and clowning with Philippe Gaulier in Paris, in film and television performance with Carter Thor Studios and with internationally acclaimed vocal coaches Elaine Overholt, Randy Graff and Bob Garret.
Emmanuelle is currently enjoying shooting episodes of The Unit and Pandora's Box. She has recently been scene as Aunt Em and understudying the role of the Wicked Witch on the National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Wizard of OZ. She has recently been seen in the off-broadway production of "A Christmas Carol", in “Guys and Dolls” at the National Arts Centre, as well as “Blood Brothers” for which she has won the Capital Critics’ Circle Award for Best Actor.
Emmanuelle Zeesman is a founding member of the Pulse Theatre Collective and a proud member of Platypus Theatre. For many years, she was a core member of A Company of Fools as the composer, musical director, choreographer, as well as an actor. With A Company of Fools she received a Rideau Award for "A Midwinter's Dream Tale" as well as nominations for "Much Ado about Nothing", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Tempest in a Teapot".
Emmanuelle has had the honor of being part the Broadway National Tours 'Finding Neverland' as Mrs DuMaurier and in 'Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Wizard of Oz' as Aunt Em/us Wicked Witch . She also had the adventure of a lifetime touring throughout Australia and Asia with Platypus Theatre, performing with world renowned orchestras and conductors.
Other theatrical highlights include: 'Rita' in "Dexter: The Unauthorized Parody" (Times Square Arts Centre), “The Snow Show” (National Arts Centre), "Joyful Noise" (Theatre Northwest), “Doubt” (The Gladstone), “La Vie Parisienne” (Theatre Lyrique), 'Julie Andrews' in “Forbidden Broadway”, The Lead Vocalist for the New Rochelle Festival in France and a dancer for Collin Mochrie’s comedy TV show “Getting Along Famously”.
Emmanuelle is also a CAEA choreographer, specializing in choreo for actor/movers. She has choreographed for such wonderful companies as: Players Theatre, The Great Canadian Theatre Company, Opera Lyra, A Company of Fools, The Gladstone, Sock'en Buskin and The Pulse Theatre Collective.
Emmanuelle lives in New York, NY with the love of her life, her wonderful husband David. She is a proud big sister to Jeremie and Eliana, step-mother to the extraordinary Hannah Kaya, as well as the 'best aunt ever' to her magnificent niece Jade! Emmanuelle has the best friends any woman could ever ask for! She sends infinite love and gratitude to Mamaman, Papa and Caryn. Every note she sings is for Gramma.
